Picture Perfect Picnic
When my friend Amber over at Amber Lynn Photography asked me to collaborate on a Mother’s Day themed picnic photoshoot, I immediately had to say yes! What;s cuter than littles and their mamas enjoying a little charcuterie picnic?!
Since warmer weather is upon us, I wanted to share how easy it is to put together a charcuterie picnic for you and your littles, girlfriends, partner, etc. What’s great about charcuterie is it can be for 2 or for a large group of people - there’s something for everyone on the board to graze on. And everything is customizable for your needs. For this particular board, I mainly had the kids in mind. I wanted to create something that moms and kids alike would want to snack on and enjoy throughout the day.
Here’s what’s on it:
Cheese: Babybel wheels ( a kids fav!), sharp cheddar cubes, brie wedges
Meat: salami
Nuts: rosemary sea salt marcona almonds
Fruit: red grapes, raspberries and dried candied oranges.
tip: for the sake of time I purchased my dried candied oranges from Trader Joe’s (SO good by the way) or you can easily make your own at home. They would even make a perfect cocktail garnish. I linked a tutorial here
Cracker: gluten free savory cracker thins. You really can use anything you like, i just choose a GF option since a few kids had a gluten allergy
Jams: honey pot with adorable honey spoon (linked here)
Garnish: rosemary
Check out my Instagram for a step by step reel on how the board came together!
This idea was so much fun and I plan to create more picnic boards in the future. In the meantime if you live in Southern Illinois make sure to check out Amber’s photography page. Linked above but will link here as well.
Here are some more photos from the shoot to inspire your next picnic!
Happy picnic-ing!
Cheers,
